A global pandemic. Tumultuous racial tension. Natural disasters and diminishing air quality. As these layers of grief and trauma strike our world, our personal lives, and the Church, how then must we embody hope? Where do we derive our hope? Our lives and ministry must create space for reflection and healing and offer tools to engage and embody the hope of the gospel in our disrupted world.
Disrupted is InterVarsity's fall immersive cohort: a three-week dive into 2 Corinthians with our campus small groups, bookended by all-community gatherings led by gifted leaders and featuring participants from the East Bay, South Bay, Peninsula, and Monterey Bay communities.
VIRTUAL HUB
Cohort communication, inter-campus interaction, and your campus hub will all be found on Discord.

What do you mean by "3 week immersion"?
The vision of Disrupted is embodied, communal spiritual transformation, and the elements of this cohort reflect this. The kick-off event will gather us as a community together. Over the following weeks, all campuses will study with the same scripture so we can engage with God’s word in our individual lives, in our small groups, and across campus communities. In addition, our Discord (See “Social Media & Virtual Hub” below) will host daily and weekly virtual engagement opportunities. There will be a final closing event to end our time.
Bonus: stay tuned for additional events and opportunities :)

how do i find my campus small group?
what if i can't make the opening and closing event?
We value your presence and request all participants make the effort to be present at both events. If you can't for any reason, please communicate with your campus staff or small group leader, and they will help you access the content.
Registration & Cost
i already go to a small group on campus. Why do i have to register?
That’s great!
Your campus small groups will continue meeting at their current time but will be focused on 2 Corinthians and the theme of embodiment and disruption. However, in addition to the scripture studies, this cohort will provide additional spiritual formation, teaching, and worship experiences.
Logistically, registration helps us better understand the audience and how best to curate the space. We really hope you and your small group will register together! To help enhance the experience, all registered participants will receive a small gift via snail mail ;)

why isn't this free?
We believe in valuing and compensating people for their work, especially groups who are often underpaid for their labor. The registration fee helps cover costs of the cohort, including honoraria for our gifted speakers and special guests, many of whom are people of color.
What's with the different payment options?
You’ll notice different payment options for registration: pay the full price ($10), discounted ($5), Jubilee ($0), plus an option to cover an extra cost.
Making these payment options is a way to make this accessible to all who want to participate, and a small way we hope to pursue economic justice through equitable payment options. We trust that you will select the option most appropriate given your financial situation.

What is a jubilee cost?
In the Bible, jubilee is a festival of freedom, worship, and economic justice that comes from instructions for the people of God. Check out Leviticus 25 to read more!
Why cover an extra cost?
We come from different backgrounds and resources, but we're all a part of a bigger spiritual Family. So for folks who are able, we invite you to prayerfully consider making the space accessible for our "extended family" by covering an extra registration fee. To do so, just add "Cover an Extra Cost" to your check out.

Do I have to join discord?
TL;DR: You’ll miss out on tons if you don’t join Discord.
Think of our Discord like the lounge - a casual place for meaningful connections. It’s designed to be part of the immersion and one of the key ways to keep interacting with fellow participants, whether from your campus or not.
Some things you’ll find on Discord: cohort announcements, optional meet-ups, game nights, AMAs with special guests, and more! Join now!

how do i connect with people outside my campus?
We know it doesn’t replace being in the same physical space, but we really hope you’ll join Discord. This will be the all-cohort hub of communication for everything from casual chit chat to optional meet-ups to discussions on application and themes -- all with participants across campuses.
